At the northern tip of Île d'Oléron, where locals say it's "the end of the world," we've chosen to keep the true spirit of camping alive: a place where you take your time, talk to each other, and breathe.
In a traditional, family-friendly camping atmosphere, our bare pitches for tents, vans, motorhomes, and caravans, along with our ten unique accommodations (colorful caravans and tiny wooden houses), are nestled in unspoiled nature just 200 meters from the Atlantic Ocean.
Certified with the Nature++ Charter, an LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refuge, and committed to a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach, Le Chassiron is an eco-responsible campsite in Charente-Maritime where biodiversity and respect for all living things guide every decision.

Made of wood, warm, and thoughtfully furnished, they accommodate 2 to 6 people, making them ideal for the whole family.

Our 13 spacious, wooded, grassy, and shaded campsites welcome tents, campervans, motorhomes, and caravans in a protected natural setting, just a stone's throw from the ocean.
Electrical hookups are available for those who need them, and nature is abundant for everyone else.
Pitching your tent or parking your campervan at Chassiron means choosing camping in its simplest and most authentic form: the sky as your ceiling, birdsong as your wake-up call, and the sea just 200 meters away.

Nestled among plants and trees, our tiny wooden houses are cozy retreats designed for a simple and relaxing holiday.
Designed for 2 to 6 people, whether with family or friends, each house features a terrace, a bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything you need to feel at home and disconnect, without feeling cramped.
Minimalist in design, like small chalets, they offer a generous and unique rental experience.

Our goal? To ensure you have a comfortable and memorable camping holiday on the Atlantic coast.
All our pitches are equipped with an electrical hook-up, on-site sanitary facilities, and a small grocery store awaits you for everyday essentials. Bicycles are welcome: the campsite has been awarded the Accueil Vélo (Cyclists Welcome) label, ideal for exploring the 160 km of cycle paths on Île d'Oléron first thing in the morning.
Looking for something a little more cozy? Our colorful caravans and tiny wooden houses can accommodate 2 to 6 people, whether you're a couple, a family, or a group of friends.
And when evening comes, whether you're in a tent or a caravan, the magic is the same: the scent of sea spray, the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep, the stars above, and long evenings that are all yours. For a night getaway with your feet in the water, a week of real vacation or a long weekend: it's up to you.

From Chassiron, everything is right there: bike rentals, shore fishing, water sports (surfing and sailing), Marennes-Oléron oysters, yoga, the Chassiron lighthouse, Fort Boyard... numerous activities and hidden gems known only to locals. But the Île d'Oléron is also about the art of doing absolutely nothing: reading, strolling, watching the sun sink into the Atlantic. THE CHASSIRON LIGHTHOUSE
As its name suggests, our campsite is ideally located for admiring the Chassiron Lighthouse. A must-see during your family holiday on Oléron Island, it allows sailors to enter the waters of the Pertuis d'Antioche strait.

With direct access to rocky cliffs and pebbly beaches, perfect for shore fishing. Just a few hundred meters from the fine sandy beach of Les Huttes, ideal for swimming.

A powerful symbol of the Charente coastline, Fort Boyard can now be seen from cruise ships, offering an immersive experience in the maritime world and its many historical anecdotes. Famous for its television program, it is expected to open to the public in 2028.

Are you arriving by bike from the cycle paths of Île d'Oléron? We've got you covered. At Camping Le Chassiron, we've added a dedicated area for touring cyclists: covered shelter to protect your bikes, water point, restrooms, repair kit in case of a breakdown at the shop, electrical hook-up to recharge your equipment, and secure parking. A rejuvenating break at the edge of the world, for a night or a longer stay, before setting off again with your eyes full of the Atlantic Ocean and the wild landscapes of Oléron's north coast.
Delphine and Pascal, guardians of the ends of the earth
It all started with a love affair with the northern tip of Île d'Oléron.
In 2019, we, Delphine and Pascal, laid eyes on this unspoiled nature campsite, just a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean. We never wanted to leave. We left Lyon, chose peace, nature, and authenticity, and became the guardians of this corner of the world in Charente-Maritime, with the desire to give you an unforgettable holiday.
As an architect and restaurateur by training, we bring to Chassiron what reflects who we are: a sense of originality, a taste for quality, a love of detail, and a naturally warm welcome. Here, we receive campers as guests, with kindness, simplicity, and that Lyonnais conviviality that immediately puts you at ease.
Three grown children, an ocean, unspoiled nature, and strong values centered on eco-responsibility and respect for all living things: Camping Le Chassiron is our life project in a family atmosphere. And you can feel it from the very first moment.
